Born in 1965 in the God’s own country Kerala, south India the beautiful back waters, the colourful folklore and the green rich nature inspired him a lot right from his child hood. The God gifted artistic talent was evident from his schooldays while he was always a piece of attraction at art competitions. Aware of the worthiness of the artistic profundity God showered on him, he decided that only God should be his master in art. He always deviated from the usual ways of teachings and preaching of art and took his own liberated views on art. To him art is a creation sparked by inspiration and never a production propelled by preparation. Art should be unaffected from any manipulations of sociocultural beliefs; it should not be crippled by any psychosomatic ways existing in the arena of art.

The Masters degree he took in English literature before taking his degree in law culminated mostly to his poetic blending of colours and dramatic effects of light and shades in his paintings. The fluid style he renders in every theme he selected shows the virginity of art, pure, unaffected, creations of inspirations. The inspiring sonnets of colours and soothing lullabies of brushes often resulted in the melodrama of art on canvas both in oil and acrylic. “When I take brush I become a brush in the hands of god”, he humbly said during an exhibition.

Some of his works tantalises with your eyes, when you never see what is clearly painted in a picture or when you see something which is never painted in the picture. Art is a way of expression of his inspiration as well as his intellectual prowess. The vedic and tantric insight he acquired from his vast reading of the ancient books is vivid in some of his works. The well cultivated view he holds and the pure Godly gifts he possess undoubtedly resulted in paintings which radiates life and positive energy. In fact the art lovers will surely be lured by that positive aspects and captivating “life’ in his works.

Prem’s mystic colouring techniques in oil and acrylic paints are liberated endeavours quite shifted from the usual styles. His own “rain drop style”, “feather touch” blending of colours, ‘puffing technique’ which eliminates the stroke effect in painting all combined to form visual aesthetics to its extreme heights. His paintings are of various themes and motifs ranging from folklore to tantric, abstracts to realistic. He never uses a palate to blend colours. Different colours are directly applied on the canvas and blended by various techniques of brush and knife. “His palate is the canvas itself”. Most of his works are spontaneous reflection of images of nature and folklore. The painting style some times challenges photography.
